Unbyul calculates every chart with deterministic software from your birth date, time and place; the AI never guesses the chart. When a chart looks off, the cause is almost always in the input, so check these first:

• AM or PM. 2 in the afternoon entered as 2 in the morning changes the hour pillar, and sometimes the day pillar.
• Birth place. We apply a true solar time correction, so a place far from the standard meridian shifts the clock time. Choose the actual city, not just the country.
• Historical daylight-saving time. See the next question.
• Korea's UTC+8:30 standard time (21 March 1954 to 9 August 1961). We apply it automatically, so charts from that period can differ from ones you got elsewhere.
• Births between 23:00 and 01:00. The 야자시/조자시 setting decides which day the hour belongs to. See below.
• Lunar and solar dates. Enter the solar (Gregorian) date unless you switched the date picker to lunar.

If the input is right and the chart still looks wrong, send us the exact birth data you entered and what you expected, and we will check it by hand.

Yes. Choose "I don't know my birth time" when you set up your profile. The hour pillar is left out rather than guessed, and your readings use the remaining three pillars. In astrology, your rising sign and houses are not shown because they depend on the time of birth; Sun and Moon readings still are. If you find your birth time later, add it in Settings → Birth data.

We adjust for them automatically from your birth date and place. Korea used daylight-saving time in 1948–1951, 1955–1960 and 1987–1988; Japan in 1948–1951; in the United States it varies by state and year. Korea also ran on UTC+8:30 between 1954-03-21 and 1961-08-09. All of this is built into the engine: enter the time that was on the clock when you were born and we do the rest.

Schools of saju differ here. Some start the new day at 23:00 (the 야자시/조자시 split), others at midnight. Choose in Settings → Saju options and your chart updates immediately. The rule in use is shown on your chart.

If you know your solar (Gregorian) birth date, enter that. If you only know the lunar date, switch the date picker to "Lunar"; the app converts it, leap months included. Saju uses solar terms rather than lunar months, so the solar date is what the engine actually needs.

Western astrology with the tropical zodiac. Houses use the Placidus system and appear only when your birth time is known. Your "Big 3" are Sun, Moon and rising sign. We do not use the sidereal (Vedic) zodiac, so your Sun sign may differ from a Vedic app.

Yes. A compatibility reading needs the other person's birth date, and ideally their time and place. Enter someone else's birth data only with their permission. It is stored in your account, visible only to you, and deleted with your account. Treat the result as a conversation starter, not a verdict on the relationship.

Coins are Unbyul's in-app currency. You buy them in packs through the App Store or Google Play and spend them on reports, compatibility readings and AI consultation questions. Coins never expire, belong to your account and cannot be transferred. Paid coins are spent before bonus coins. If you delete your account, remaining coins are forfeited.

Receipts come from Apple or Google, because the purchase is made through their store. Apple emails a receipt and lists it under Settings → Apple Account → Purchase History; Google Play lists it under Payments and subscriptions. Inside Unbyul, Settings → Coins shows every coin purchase and every coin spent.

Korea: Unused coins can be refunded within 7 days of purchase under the Act on Consumer Protection in Electronic Commerce. Coins already spent on delivered content cannot be refunded; this digital-content exception is shown before each purchase. Email us with your nickname and the store receipt.

United States and Japan: Request a refund through Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com or through Google Play's refund flow, under their policies.

Everywhere: If a report fails to generate because of a fault on our side, the coins return to your balance automatically. For anything else, email us.

Your first coin pack is 50% off. The offer applies once per account and is shown in the coin store until you use it.

Sign in with the same account you used before. Your coin balance, saved reports and birth data live on our servers and sync automatically. Not sure which account you used? Email us with the store receipt and we will find it.

Yes, at any time in Settings → Birth data. New readings use the new data. Reports you have already generated are kept exactly as they were, since they reflect the data at the time and the coins spent on them. If a typo led to a wrong report, email us and we will take a look.

If you signed in with Apple or Google, your email is managed by that account. If you signed up with an email address, go to Settings → Account → Email and confirm the change from the new address. Lost access to the old address? Email us from the new one and we will verify ownership.

Go to Settings → Account → Delete account, or request deletion by email. Coins and reports are lost and deletion cannot be undone, so please read Delete your account first.

Unbyul is for entertainment and reflection. Saju and astrology are traditions for thinking about yourself and your year, not predictions of fact. Nothing in the app is medical, legal, financial or psychological advice. Enjoy it, talk about it, and make big decisions with real professionals.

The chart is computed by software. The interpretation text is written by an AI language model from that chart, following our editorial guidelines, and cached so the same chart gets the same text. AI text can occasionally be awkward or miss the mark; if something reads wrong, please report it.
